The Elland Academy Careers Vision
Careers education and guidance programmes play an integral role in supporting young people in pathways that suit their interests, abilities and individual needs. At The Elland Academy we aim to inspire students with our motivational careers programme. A robust careers programme puts school learning into a wider and more relevant context and helps raise aspirations. This will drive students to take pride in their futures, increase their resilience and thus create an aspirational generation of young adults for our local and wider community. Our vision is to encourage students to take pride in themselves, increase their resilience and create an aspirational generation of young adults for our local and wider community.
The Elland Academy has a statutory requirement when delivering careers in its academies to ensure that information about options and
careers is presented impartially and that advice promotes the best interests of pupils.
We aim to ensure that our programmes:
• Empowers young people to plan and manage their own futures
• Responds to the needs of each learner
• Provides comprehensive information and advice
• Raises aspirations
• Actively promotes equality of opportunity and challenges stereotypes
• Helps young people to progress
